About Granby
The United States Pony Clubs, Inc., develops character, leadership, confidence and a sense of community in youth through a program that teaches the care of horses and ponies, riding and mounted sports.
Granby Pony Club is a member of the United States Pony Club's New York/Upper Connecticut Region. Granby Pony Club was founded in 1963, nine years after the national organization, USPC, was founded in 1954. Pony Club has three basic goals: the instruction of riding, the instruction of various mounted sports, and the teaching of horse care to thousands of youngsters across America. Pony Club is unique among riding organizations because its educational programs place equal emphasis on the teaching of skills, horse care fundamentals and team participation with sportsmanship.
USPC Pony Clubs and Riding Centers are assigned to one of 41 geographical regions, which are administered by a volunteer Regional Supervisor (RS) and other appointed and elected officers. Regions offer additional activities and opportunities for members and support for the club and center leaders under their administration.
Granby Pony Club is part of the New York/Upper Connecticut Region.
